I started getting pitches and requests to include products in a 2015 Holiday Gift Guide – back in July! My mind was hardly focused on creating content for the holidays. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a blessing to get free products sent to our home for the holidays, but I just wasn’t feeling it. So you won’t find a huge lift of gift ideas of giveaways here. I had enough time to review our shopping experience for gifts at the Five Below store, as well as recommend a Holiday Home Cleaning from WellKept in Atlanta. I’m also working on a relaxation idea for the The Bliss Spa facial review in Downtown Atlanta. My only wish is for a clutter-free Christmas.
I just can’t find any room in my life for AND MORE STUFF – at the moment. So I decided to step back and figure out if there was anything that I needed.
As I looked around my bedroom, our living room and A.J.’s bedroom – I found that are our home is filled to the brim WITH STUFF. I don’t want any more stuff in here until I figure out a way to organize, donate and re-sell the stuff that I already have. Here’s how to “Control Holiday Spending without feeling like a Scrooge.”
There’s only one thing I wanted for Christmas, but I’m not going to mention the brand of the name because I actually found a much cheaper, yet version of it. I just could NOT justify the expense of spending $200 on this skin care item. Maybe I’ll get it for my birthday or down the road. I even participated in a Twitter party where this skin care item was the prize. I didn’t win. So I took that as a sign!
See, there’s been a basket full of MY CLEAN LAUNDRY sitting at the foot of my bed for months now. I wear a few pieces. Wash some. But can’t find space to put it all away. That – is a sign.

Clutter-Free Christmas
I feel like my family has been blessed with the opportunity to travel to go on a Carnival Cruise to the Western Caribbean right before Christmas, while having time to travel on Christmas Day.
It was just absolutely too much for the end of my 2015.
Instead, I’m working on ways to grow this parenting talk show and connecting with moms with
- In-person events like the vision board party I hosted in October 2015
- Collaborating with other fellow bloggers
- Creating a blogging series on a specific topic
- Launching an e-course for work at home moms
- Gaining more video clients to work on projects with my Emmy award-winning husband
I’d love to keep you informed about Atlanta events and the c-course you can take at your own pace, by sending you my bi-monthly (twice a month) newsletter.
You can look back at my 2012, 2013, and 2014 Holiday Gift Guide reviews if you’re in the mood to see for gift ideas. Please add them to your Pinterest Board for next holiday season.
We are heavy on the clutter here, too. I think I am going to get a dumpster after Christmas actually.
Great tips to stay clutter free. I hate clutter!! Enjoy your cruise!
I totally get it girl! Great post.
I really want a clutter free Christmas too. I hate winding up win things I don’t need or giving other people things that they don’t need.
I really appreciate these tips. As a blogger, I find my house gets filled with stuff really fast. I have to stay on top of it.
It sounds like you’re working on a ton of different things right now. I’m hoping to get a couple of stress-free days soon and if I can cut down on the clutter I’ll be happy.
We try and declutter a few times a year, usually seasonally, to gather and donate clothing and toys that no longer work for us. It is a great way to give back and clear up some much needed space.
I also have too much stuff an clutter. I am starting to get better at getting rid of old things when I buy new things. Looking forward to you new ventures.
My Christmas has changed drastically this year. But, despite the personal things, I have made it clear that I just don’t want more stuff and things this year.
Clutter is one of our problems too. Have a great time on your cruise!

Every year about 2 weeks before Christmas we do a major decluttering of our home so we have room for new stuff. Have fun on your cruise!
I decluttered my old house prior to moving and am determined to keep the new house clutter free. We just had our boys donate some of their under used toys in preparation for the aftermath of Christmas.
It can definitely be difficult to balance Christmas clutter with frugalness. I am trying to get more experiences for my kids over stuff
This is something i really need to do. I have to any things i could get rid of. It would be so nice to clear the clutter.
I’ve been clearing things out for about a month, and it’s finally starting to show it. I don’t want Christmas to come & ruin all my hard work!
It’s amazing how quickly things pile up. We’re cleaning a lot this week.
this Christmas has been very simple for me. No decorating and no shopping
My husband and I recently got rid of the clutter in our home. Now we have to work on the outside!
Ah the cruise. That would definitely be nice this time of the year. 🙂
This is a goal of mine for the winter break and in 2016. It’s so hard to keep on top of but really makes a difference in quality of life! Enjoy your cruise and Happy Holidays!
