Atlanta has an array of pizza options, but our son has decided on his favorite one: Pizza Crosta in Sandy Springs. It’s in the Prado Shopping Center along Roswell Road. We were invited to visit the new restaurant, enjoy a complimentary meal and share our experience. Keep reading for a look at the menu options and A.J.’s do-it-himself pizza creation.

Pizza Crosta

Pizza Crosta is one of the newest restaurant additions to the Prado Shopping Center. You can park out front or park in the garage and enter in the back. Its focus on casual dining pizza lets you pick your toppings for your 10-inch personal pizza, watch the staff make it, place it in the open-fire oven, then enjoy it in minutes. Pizza, calzones and flatbreads are all $7.99 with unlimited toppings and premium toppings like slow roasted pork, genoa salami, egg and even shrimp. For beverages, we had a blast thanks to the 140 flavor Coca-Cola freestyle machine.

Kids Create Their Own Pizza

Just ask the staff when you arrive and children like A.J. will the opportunity to make their own pizza. Tell the chef your favorite crosta or crust (traditional, wheat or gluten-free), pick your sauce and toppings, then they’ll bring them to the table. Watch A.J. start assembling his own pepperoni pizza:

I ordered a more non-traditional pizza at Pizza Crosta. I love BBQ chicken pizza and it’s already on their menu, so I ordered it without banana peppers and it did not disappoint.  The BBQ sauce was not too spicy and the crumbled blue cheese topping was just salty enough.

I’d like to see Pizza Crosta expand to open more locations (like one closer to us in Tucker), but if I’m in the Roswell Road area I could easily go back with a few girlfriends or for lunch with A.J.’s friends to make their own pizzas too.

Visit PizzaCrosta.com, like Pizza Crosta on Facebook, tweet @PizzaCrosta and check out the weekly specials on the Pizza Crosta Instagram feed.

Comment below: How would your children like to assemble their own pizza? What makes a good pizza spot?

Thanks for the dinner invitation Pizza Crosta in Sandy Springs.
