Mommy and Me Monday: Visit to the CNN Center for #ExpATL

I take tons of pictures of our son. I noticed months ago that I’m rarely in the pictures with him. I’m always behind the camera.

Thankfully, my friend Krystyn of Really, Are You Serious is hosting Mommy and Me Monday. It’s designed to get moms in the photos with their children.

This weekend we attended an event hosted by the Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau that’s designed to connect bloggers with family-friendly venues like Stone Mountain Park, the Georgia Aquarium and the Center for Puppetry Arts. We met the PR and marketing representatives, found out the latest news and received tickets to enjoy many of these activities.

Honestly, A.J. was not that happy to sit in his stroller while Mommy tried to make connections. He was most interested in running around with Freddie Falcon.

Then he noticed the huge letters outside the CNN Center. He wanted to climb them and touch them.  It’s a popular tourist spot in Atlanta so a young lady snapped a photo of us. Here’s a look at the InstaCollage I created with two photos of us together.

Why do you think we snap so many photos of our children – but not as many photos of us with them?

Share your Mommy and Me Monday photos over on Krystyn’s blog and get in front of the camera!

Freddie was Abigail hit with Amelia too! Good to see you.

Argh, iPad + tired fingers + autocorrect. He was a BIG HIT with Amelia…

  3. I personally get a bit too busy when we’re out doing stuff that if I don’t take the time to stop and think about a family photo (or photo of all of us with me in it) it won’t happen. Luckily the last few times we’ve gone and done family things I remember and hop in the photo.

  4. I am TERRIBLE for taking pictures when out doing things, whether or not I’m in them. It’s just not one of my talents. So I try to surround myself with photographer friends that can take pictures for me! Lol

  5. One of my photography goals this year is to take more pictures of me with my kids. So far I’m struggling. when I think about the the light is not right in the house. I’m ready for spring!!

  6. well, someone has to be holding the camera, lol. I love being in the pictures, but I feel a little vain asking hubby to always get me in it too. Meh, oh well.

  7. It was so nice to see you at the event, Joyce! In answer to your question, I think that we (moms) like to document every cute thing that our child sees or experiences, and this leaves us out. I know that when I’m out and about with my family, I am a better photographer than my husband, so I like to be behind the camera. Krystyn’s Mommy and Me Monday is a great link-up. I need to be better about getting in front of the lens, too. Can’t wait to read all about your experiences at all of the various Atlanta attractions! Perhaps we will run into each other again soon 🙂

  8. I am always taking the pictures so I never get in them. I am going to find a way to be in the pictures with my kids so we can have memories of me participating with my children in their lives.

  9. I know I am always taking the pictures so it’s hard to get myself in there.

  10. Great to meet you. Thanks for your interest in Maternal Mental Health!

  11. My kids don’t want me in the photo with them 🙁 but I do need to take more of us as a family since I have a decent camera I will correct that.

  12. I definitely need more photos with my son!

  13. I take tons of photos of my kids but I am never in any of them!! LOL.

  14. I’m also guilty of not appearing in photos with my kids. Guess I should ask those around me to snap a few of us all together!

  15. So glad you linked up! And look at all of these momma’s commenting! hopefully, they turn the camera this weekend and take a picture with them in it and link up!

  16. I am so guilty of always being the photographer! It’s just easier for me to be the photographer because the pictures turn out better. hahahaha

  17. I do need to take more pics with ME in the frame. Good thoughts.

  18. I’m always a little nervous about asking folks to take pics for me, but I’ve been doing it a lot more lately. The big thing now is there are no pictures with the 3 of us!

  19. These pictures are great!! I love them!!
