When I joined my first mommy group when A.J. was about nine months old, I got introduced to eco-friendly baby products. Before that I just bought him what I thought he’d like or what was the best price. Although I breastfed him for almost two years, wore him in baby carriers from time time to time, I wouldn’t describe myself as a “crunchy” or “attachment mom.” If I had it to do all over again (please Baby Jesus don’t take this as a signal that I’d like to get pregnant), I would definitely be more conscious of using BPA-free products and organic cotton clothing. For Atlanta parents, who are looking for more eco-conscious product Happy Mango in Atlanta recently opened in Krog Street Market near the Atlanta Beltine. You can also shop online. I was invited to tour the Happy Mango children’s store and received a $50 gift card to shop.
When you stop by the store, please tell them you heard about them on MommyTalkShow.com!
Shop Happy Mango in Atlanta
After selling online for six years, mompreneur Phnewfula Fredriksen decided to bring her favorite eco-conscious children’s products to her own Atlanta store. The author and former music executive’s goal is to allow parents to shop affordably in a welcoming environment. You’ll probably see the owner wearing her daughter around the store while answering questions from parents who stop by.
Happy Mango in Atlanta is stocked with eco-friendly brands that are new to me, but you may know them, like:
– Finn & Emma
– Aden & Anais
– Wean Green
– Baby time by Espicenial
– Franck & Fischer
Since A.J. is not into shopping, he entertained himself in the kids corner at Happy Mango. Children are encouraged to color custom shopping bags their parents can use to take their products home. You’ll notice below his feet EVA foam grass print floor mats by Tadpoles. They’re perfect for play areas and sold in-store.
Black Friday & Shop Small Business at Happy Mango
Happy Mango has a special Black Friday & Shop Small Business special. The Finn & Emma 100% organic gift set (value: $99) with rattles and booties is $50 in-store.
For newborns and their moms, you can also find washable nursing pads, natural rubber pacifiers and hybrid baby bottles with glass & BPA free plastic.
Check out the classic book selection with a kid’s spin on Romeo & Julie, Frankenstein and more. These would make great birthday party gifts. One mom who stopped by the store grabbed a few since she was headed to a birthday party the next day!
For older children (four and up) like A.J., I’ve got my eyes on a set of wood blocks to help children learn foreign languages like Japanese, Swahili, Italian, Farci, Hebrew and Spanish.
Talk back to me in the comments: What’s your favorite eco-friendly baby brand? When you shop in-store, how important is it to have products for various ages of children?

Even before I became a parent, I would look for eco-friendly products for friends and family. I love getting the muslin blankets from Aden and Anais. We have a couple of products by them for Doc. Those blocks sound like a great holiday gift!
