In case you’re new here, you may not know that my Father passed away in 2011 from cancer complications and other health problems. Since then I’ve lost several friends and family to cancer. One of my closest friends from college was recently diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer. She’s a mom of 2 little boys who’s coping with surgery recovery and possibly more cancer treatments. Chances are your family has been affected by cancer too.
Eisai Inc. invited us to attend two ground-breaking events in Atlanta for Epilepsy and Cancer at the Omni Hotel last month. On Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Eisai Inc. and several cancer care organizations broke the new Guinness World Record for assembling the most Chemotherapy Care Packages in 60 minutes. We arrived before the assembly began, when all of the supplies were staged and organized. The Chemotherapy Care Packages included coloring books, lip balm, lotion and socks to be delivered to patients undergoing chemotherapy around the country.
Multiple organizations dedicated to helping patients with cancer and their families, CancerCare, Cancer Support Community, Sister’s Network® Inc. and Eisai Inc. participated in the event.
Eisai Inc. proudly announced on Twitter that the volunteers and employees reached their goal.
Excited to announce that we broke the @GWR record for total number of #Chemo Care Packages assembled, 2,522! Dedicated to patient care.❤️ pic.twitter.com/kSh3KkTgii
