When school is out working parents are left scrambling for child care options, so I put together this 2015 Atlanta Thanksgiving Break Camps list. I did my best to mix inside the perimeter and outside the perimeter options for parents, but you can also check with local churches, YMCA’s and community centers to see what they’re offering if you live elsewhere. Read each camp’s policies about refunds and cancellations before you register.

2015 Atlanta Thanksgiving Break Camps

Zoo Atlanta

Description/Activities: Each day has a theme for “Dinner with Carnivores,” “Dinner with Herbivores,” and “Dinner with Omnivores”

Ages: Kindergarten – 5th grade

Dates: Monday November 23 – Wednesday, November 25

Time: Extended care drop off 7:30 a.m.; standard drop off 8-9 a.m.; camp begins 9 a.m.; pickup 4-5 p.m.; extended care pickup 5-5:30 p.m.

Cost: $70 per day non-members/$56 per day for members/$10 extended care daily

Still Waters Learning Center

Description/Activities: Thanksgiving and Community Service Project;  “Play group games, experience exciting Thanksgiving day activities, work together to help serve the community, create Thanksgiving crafts, think critically about all of the wonderful things God has given us and much more!”

Ages: Pre-K to fifth grade

Dates: Monday November 23 – Wednesday, November 25

Time: Full Day Rate (8am – 6pm) – $50/day; Half Day Rate (8am – 1pm OR 1pm – 6pm)- $35/day; AFTER Wednesday November 18th by 6 p.m. Full Day Rate – $70/day

Half Day Rate – $55/day *Additional discounts available for siblings and referrals

STEM Camp/Science of Fun

Description/Activities: “Science of Fun’s hands-on break camps in downtown Decatur will keep your child happy and mentally engaged with activities like dissecting owl pellets, fantastic flubber, paper making, homemade butter, solar balloons, elephant toothpaste, hex bug habitats and a brand new 2L bottle rocket launcher!”

Dunwoody Nature Center

Description/Activities: “Camps offer age-appropriate, themed activities that appeal to different learning styles. Campers enjoy nature discovery, trail walks, arts & crafts, science experiments, games, free play and snack/lunch time.”

Atlanta Swim Academy Camp H20

Description/Activities: “During the chilly school fall and winter break days, come to ASA and enjoy swimming and activities with your friends! Camp days are filled with fun crafts, snacks, themed movies, swim lessons and swim fun.”
