Mommy Talk Show Candid Conversation with a TV Mom
As the year comes to a close I thought I’d look back at the 2014 Hot Topics that got the most comments on the site and the Mommy Talk Show Facebook page where I get to chat with you every day.
First is the the most emotional story I’ve created since I started the show in 2010. This story got reshared, retweeted, garnered emails of support and even a phone call from a fellow blogger who was surprised by her own reactions to young Black men she sees. I opened up with a very personal story of raising our Black son in the era of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

My Twitter following grew immensely this year to almost 10K followers thanks to the Twitter parties I’ve hosted for major brands, being highly engaged on Twitter and requiring a tweet to enter my giveaways. A fellow blogger called me “Twitter Famous” and this year when I met a fellow journalist she introduced herself by saying, “I follow you on Twitter.” How cool is that? This Fall I got back in the saddle when it comes to audiences, makeup and hair. I was a friggin’ model at a Macy’s Fashion Show with the world’s first plus-sized supermodel, Emme. She knows my name, was cool as a cucumber and follows me on Twitter. Does it get any better than that? On the Mommy Talk Show Facebook page, I shared how nervous I was even before I hit the runway and you laughed right along with me!
