[VIDEO] Sleep Training Advice for Babies and Toddlers Part I

For me the saying, “Sleeping like a baby,” is an oxymoron. A.J. isn’t the best sleeper in the world and part of that is my fault because I didn’t read any books about sleep training before he was born. I guess I thought he’d just figure it out. Boy, was I wrong. In this video, the guests discuss sleep training advice for babies and toddlers to help them sleep through the night.

Natalie Akpele of Cuddlebuggs Nanny Placement and Newborn Care suggests you give a newborn two weeks at home to adjust to life outside the womb, then slowly start making adjustments to their sleep schedule. Watching your child and learning their cues for when they need a nap is other piece of her advice. Lisa Baker of Organic Baby Atlanta says her daughter had a hard time self-soothing, so her pediatrician recommended a magnesium supplement to help her sleep through the night.
