With just about a week left to buy Christmas gifts for his cousins, we stopped by the Five Below store in Dunwoody so A.J. could pick out something for them and himself. We’re flying to see our family in Maryland.
A.J. is counting down the minutes until he sees his cousins so they can play games hang out. I thought Five Below would be the ideal place to find fun gifts for them to enjoy on Christmas Day when they’re all together. The store has a wide variety of toys, tech and sports. Plus we’re shopping for two active boys and a spunky little girl – ages four to 12.
On our shopping list:
- 12 year-old Quinton
- Six year-old Tyrique
- Four year-old Laila
A.J. easily navigated the store and found a mix of educational books and fun toys to share. First, he grabbed a blue shopping cart and headed straight for the Star Wars display. A.J. hasn’t seen any of the Star Wars films but he knows there’s a new movie coming out. The Five Below store carried two things he loved and his cousin would too – a fan and a flash light with Star Wars characters. Six year-old Tyrique’s gifts were set.
Next up, he was drawn to the book section. Our little bookworm knew his little cousin would love something princess-related, so he picked out a purse-shaped sticker book where four year-old Laila could dress up characters or play out scenes.
He also found a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Book for himself that he read in the car on the way home. After a second thought, he grabbed one for his big cousin Quinton too.
Finally, A.J. found two table top toys for Quinton, a golf set and “Big Shot Baseball.” More than anything I think A.J. just wanted something he could enjoy with Quinton. One of A.J.’s favorite Christmas memories was when all the boys played football Christmas Day.
Each gift cost $5 and looked like it cost a lot more. We easily stayed in budget since we’re also shipping the gifts. We’ve shopped here several times in the past for everything $1 to $5, or $5 and below. When I shop for myself the Tech section is my favorite. My iPhone case came from Five Below. I’ve also bought makeup in the Style section. The Dunwoody Five Below store in Perimeter Point is easy to find with plenty of parking in a well-lit area.
Talk back to me in the comments: What makes Five Below the ideal place for your children to do their Christmas shopping? Is there a must-see section of the store that would make your shopping experience easier?

Thanks for this–I totally forgot about this place. We ship for fam at the school’s holiday shop which is so nice but we will need a new option next year. We went one time after Olivia’s tea room to spend some Valentines Day money and my girls loved it. Glad to know there’s one closer.
It’s the closest one to us. I wish one would move in to N Dekalb Mall since Macy’s is closing there.
We bought that sticker book! My daughter is a sticker and bandaid junkie! Although it’s called 5 Below, I don’t know what happened–my bill was $100…lol
Aww, so cute! I love seeing kids thinking of others and what someone might like. He’s adorable. Merry Christmas A.J. and fam!!
I just discovered Five Below last month, by accident. Love it! The closest one to me is in McDonough, but I WILL be back! 🙂
