I’ve noticed Actor/Director/Producer Tyler Perry on several TV talk shows this month, including when he stopped by the Jimmy Fallon Show. Perry is out and about promoting his horror sequel, Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. Keep reading for background info on the movie and how to win a Madea Halloween Prize.
What’s interesting to me is how Perry has expanded the Madea character and franchise to tackle more than her usual fair. In case you don’t know, the once homeless Perry and now multimillion dollar movie studio owner created Madea, her family and friends originally as a stage play. The gun-toting “Christian” (I use that term loosely since she goes to church) now has several feature films that bear her name, a successful horror comedy film and now its sequel.
In theaters October 20, 2017 Madea and her crew, Bam and Hattie, somehow end up on a campground that hold a scary dose of monsters. From the looks of the trailer of Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween it’s a mix of her usual shenanigans with a mix of an homage to iconic horror movies like The Ring and Friday: The Thirteenth
