My husband has been suffering from World Cup Soccer fever and it’s rubbing off on our son, in a good way. FIFA World Cup, Coke and superstar DaMarcus Beasley created a team of their own with the “goal” of promoting the benefits of soccer to African American youth.
When you buy Coca-Cola products through July 13, 2014 you can also donate a soccer ball to a school you choose. Visit www.coke.com/summer and enter a participating Coca-Cola product code to make the donation. You can also “enter to instantly win prizes and download “The World Is Ours,” Coca-Cola’s song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ campaign.”
Beasley is the only American soccer player to play in four World Cups. He’s an Indiana native played USMNT. Do your children know about DaMarcus Beasley and his accomplishments? I’d like to teach A.J. to about him especially since we usually see African American athletes with high profiles in basketball and football, not soccer.
This summer he’s making a personal appearance at his Beasley National Soccer School in his home state. There are also camps in Michigan and Ohio.
