This is a 2-for-1 video day because you get to see this preview clip of @TheLorax movie and a video I shot with my iPhone4s at our local @Target store from Saturday’s reading of The Lorax. This is also where I’ll share my expectations of the film since A.J. is a huge fan and we’ve been reading him @TheLorax for about one year. (My Mom ordered him a batch of Dr. Seuss books.) You’re also welcome to link your Lorax Movie posts in the comments.
The Lorax book vs. The Lorax Movie
I have to admit. I’m kind of concerned from the looks of the trailer that The Lorax Movie is not going to stay true to Dr. Seuss’ vision. There seems to be some creative license and new characters added to the original story.
On the flip side, when A.J. saw “The Grinch” on TV Christmas Eve, his eyes lit up since the script was word-for-word like the book coming to life. I’ll be reminding myself that in most cases the movie is never as good as the book.
The reading Target stores
Since A.J. knows every word of The Lorax book by heart and reads it to himself, I wanted to treat him to a reading at our neighborhood @Target store. We met a few friends from our play group there, sat around The Lorax Movie display and listened to the amazing Dr. Seuss books.
