Atlanta Charities for Women & Children Need Your Help for the Holidays

In the spirit of the holiday giving, I wanted to share several Atlanta charities and events that need your help for the 2012 holiday season because they  serve women and children.

Although it should be a time of year to celebrate, some Atlanta families are struggling.

You can give your time as a volunteer, make a monetary donation or simply Like, Tweet and Share this story so word can spread! You’re welcome to leave a comment below with a link to other Atlanta charities that need our support around the holidays.

I’ll start with two events this weekend.

  2. Oh what a great campaign!! I hope a lot of people in that area can help out! We are working to see how much help we can give to our local battered women’s shelter. Many of these families have to leave in the dead of night with NOTHING. They have my focus this Christmas season.

  3. Thanks for sharing the information about these charities. We should all give at Christmas {and all year long, for that matter}.

  8. I believe in the power of giving and helping others moreover I enjoy supporting charities by volunteering or donating. What is a community without service? Most of the above orgs I am affiliated with like ADR, March of Dimes, and I will be attending the PJ party on Saturday. I loving to help others and especially during the holiday. I saw the warm and fuzzy project your FB page so of course I want give! Hosea Feed the hungry is also the largest food bank in Atlanta but they do so much more @www.4hosea.com.

  9. The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children is a worthy organization located off of Northside Drive in Midtown Atlanta. For years I would drive down Northside and always saw women on foot, often with children. Earlier this year I organized a corporate volunteer event at the shelter, that’s when I realized where the women were headed. Not only did we provide many needed items such as clothing, diapers, toiletries and gift cards, but we also had the opportunity to prepare and serve lunch, do landscaping, painting, organizing and assist with job skills and resume writing.

I urge anyone to take the time to check out this shelter. They always have a need for money, supplies or just people to come by and help.
