Purex Sweepstakes: Moms Deserve a Day Off!

It’s been one on those stressful weeks of motherhood that made me think about how much moms deserve a day off.
A.J. came down with a cold, which means he missed two days of preschool. His cold developed into his second bout of hand, foot and mouth disease. It’s less severe this time. But still quite annoying.
Nevertheless, any work at home mom can tell you that any week when your child is sick is a non-productive week.

The auto repair shop that’s had my car for two weeks wouldn’t return my calls about when all the work was done. We finally had to down up there and get the car. Although the car sounds better and we have a good warranty on the repairs, we are never going back there. I’m debating whether to leave them a scathing Yelp review or just let it go.

Put all of this stress together and you have a week when I’m feeling like I need a day off.

Purex has launched a contest for overworked moms like us! What do you win? “We’ll have a maid service clean your house and do the laundry while you’re off getting a mani-pedi, hire a baby sitter to watch the kids, and have dinner delivered so you don’t have to cook! Enter to WIN a day off for yourself or nominate another deserving Mom.” The contest ends November 13, 2013 at 3 p.m.

VIDEO: Chelsea Lately Live Taping #FiguringOut40LAYou may recall this summer I took a trip to Los Angeles by myself to celebrate my 40th birthday by myself. It was amazing and I often find myself day dreaming about going back again. While I was there I was in the audience for the Chelsea Lately show, visited The Grove shopping plaza, took the TMZ tour where I landed a one-on-one interview with a guide and basically overdosed on celebrity news.

Comment below: What’s stressed you out lately? What’s your ideal day off?

  1. Yes, who wouldn’t want a day off? Being a mom is a hard job, my kids are grown and it hasn’t gotten easier except there is less mess in the house. But I still worry about them.

  2. Being a stepmom, building a successful business, being a good and supportive life partner. I’m out of new ideas and exhausted of thinking.

  3. My ideal day off would consist of a pedicure, shopping, and time with just my hubby!
