Fall Festival Fashion: How to Stay Warm and Comfortable

I love Fall weather because of the fashion options ALONE! Boots and sweaters are among my favorites. No need to worry about slimming down to show your abs or curves. For me, it’s time to cover up and stay warm. This weekend we are headed to the Taste of Atlanta in Midtown and I’m already daydreaming about what I’ll wear. Some of my options are already in my closet. Others I’ve been scouring the web for and found some great deals online. Here are some suggestions on your own Fall Festival Fashion, especially if it involves a lot of walking (like most festivals do!) This post includes affiliate links where I’ll earn a commission if you purchase something. But I only recommend items I’d use myself.

Fall Festival Fashion

Fall Festival Fashion

First, let me rewind to the 2014 Macy’ Fashion Show  I participated in with the world’s first plus size Supermodel, Emme. This outfit below featured everything I needed to truly rock a Fall Festival while staying warm and comfortable.

Emme Cardigan Look

Knee Length Cardigan

Cardigan

The light sweater, slouchy (yet stylish) cardigan, comfortable pants, boots, bangles and bag were plenty of fun to wear and just as useful.

If you’d like a longer option, here’s a knee-length cardigan that’s a polyester and rayon blend.

Leggings

Leggings, Pants and Jeggings

Comfortable material is a must for fall pants. I prefer leggings and can’t wait to break out mine! Wear them under your favorite sweater or shirt dress which leads me to another relaxing look.

Shirt Dress

If you prefer a dress for Fall Festivals, I love the look of a long shirt dress, especially if it’s denim.

For summer dresses and maxi dresses, the Target women’s department is usually my go-to.

But I also found a distressed denim shirt dress for under $25.

Boots

I’m diametrically opposed to this open-toed boot phenomenon.  Any boot that you see me rocking is a full boot. I found an incredibly comfortable pair when I found Crocs boots. I also have large calves which make it darn there impossible to wear knee-high boots.

These Crocs were perfect for the wedge heel. I could walk for miles in these boots with no complaints. These are definitely on my must-wear list when we head to the Taste of Atlanta event.

You can also wear them under pants to look like shoes if you’d like.

Bags & Totes

For Fall festivals and any outing with your family the idea of going bag-free is not realistic. I long for those old days when I could leave the house with my keys, cell phone and a $20 for an entire day. I use my Michael Kors bag for work-related events, but I don’t want to bring it out to a huge public event. Here are some reasonably priced and high-end leather totes.

Remember to add a small umbrella or portable poncho in your tote bag in case there’s a fall downpour.

Talk back to me in the comments: Which Fall Festivals and State Fairs will you visit this season? What’s your favorite thing to wear there?
