Tackle Cold & Flu Season + Earn BalanceRewards from Walgreens

I’ve spent the week coughing, sneezing and hacking up a lung thanks to the cold A.J. caught and gave to me. Somehow, he bounced back quickly. Not so much for me. If I called you on the phone you’d mistake me for “Wheezy” from The Jeffersons. It’s going to be a long, hard cold  & flu season if we’re already this sick in October. So I just stocked up on cold and flu medicines from my local Walgreens + earned Balance Rewards in its new loyalty program.

Tackle Cold & Flu Season

Before I headed to Walgreens I checked out the weekly sales flier. You’ll see what’s on sale, get suggestions on how to save more using manufacturer and Walgreens coupons, plus see how many Balance Rewards you’ll earn.

Coughing irritates me so much I wanted to stock up on cough medicine for daytime, nighttime and in between time. I stocked up on the Walgreens Brand.

I’m all stocked up on cough syrup for cold & flu season.

I’m embarrassed to say we still use an “internal thermometer” when taking A.J.’s temperature. Walgreens sells a temple thermometer.

A.J.’s about to upgrade to a temple thermometer like the one they use at the pediatrician’s office.

At the end of my experience shopping for cold & flu season at Walgreens, I’d earned 1,500 Balance Rewards. I’m 3,500 points away from earning $5 off a purchase.

Pardon the pink line through the receipt. I guess the receipt ribbon needs to be changed. Here’s a look at my Balance Rewards!

  1. I don’t shop Walgreens very often, we tend to pick up as much as possible from the grocery store since they offer gas reward points. But, they don’t always have as wide a selection of the cold and flu products that we need this time of year. I’ll have to keep Walgreen’s and their rewards program in mind when I need to replenish our medicine cabinet!

  2. I need to sign up for this yet!

  3. I haven’t signed up yet, mostly because we rarely get to Walgreens…but with cold/flu season coming up, looks like I should make a stop!

  4. LOVE This: If I called you on the phone you’d mistake me for “Wheezy” from The Jeffersons.
